One consistent Park deficiency has been communication between residents and Park management. This Board as previous Boards’ identified communication as a priority item for improvement. In a recent Accents this Board indicated that the first conduit for information from the Board should be through the General Manager. The Billiard Club has followed this protocol. On April 9th, The Billiard Club sent a letter to your office requesting information on the re-establishment of the Club’s facilities. It was anticipated that this information would be given before most of our Executive had left the Park. Having received no reply by April 20th, I left my email address at our office. As of May 27th I still have not received a reply from yourself or Mr.Gupta. On behalf of our Executive and members I must stress that the process to determine the fate and reestablishment of the Billiard Cub has been utterly frustrating. This is primarily due to the fact that the flow of information has basically been one-way. Since I have had no response from your office I must assume that the Board has no clear plan of what to do with the Billiard Club and has provided no commitment on funding! I find this remarkable, given the amount of information provided, and that the matter has been discussed at a number of workshops. We did receive one letter indicating we would have four tables. We also learned through the May Accents, that the wall in the Can-Am building was removed to provide for three tables.
It was anticipated that the Club Executive would be kept up to date on all decisions and progress with respect to the new facility. As mentioned in the April 9th letter, it would be beneficial to involve the Billiard Club Executive in the process, so we arrive at an amenable solution. A lack of information and discussion puts our Club in a defensive position, which lends itself to confrontational rather than constructive actions.
It would be appreciated if the information requested could be provided, or a reason why it is not available.
